  1. There is a bug in Word. Around the 2 minute mark, if you were to start to set another heading and accidentally select say H1 (already set), it will wipe out your settings for H1. Crazy frustrating bug to figure out. 

  2. Thank You!!  I can't tell you how long I struggled with this.  My document template was created in Word 97 and when I saved it as a Word 2010 all my heading numbers were blacked out.  Very frustrating…

  3. Many thanks for your very clear explanation.  I must say the title numbering has gotten very bad over the successive versions of Word.  Back in the early nillies, I thought it was much better handled, and much more straightforward.
